پلاگین GeomGym به منظور برقراری ارتباط مناسب و تعاملی بین دو کانسپت BIM و معماری پارامتریک ساخته شده است. این پلاگین با استفاده از قابلیت های توسعه ی یافته ی IFC نسل چهارم که به تازگی توسط BuildingSmart منتشر شده، امکان انتقال و برازش دیتا را بین دو محیط راینو-گراس هاپر و رویت فراهم میسازد. به این ترتیب که پس از تولید مدل پارامتریک توسط گراس هاپر در محیط راینو، با اضافه کردن گره پارامتریک IFC و دابل کلیلک بر آن، میتوان مدل را در فرمت IFC به محیط نرم افزاری رویت انتقال داد. البته، در حال حاضر، Dynamo به عنوان پلتفرم پارامتریک برای BIM مطرح است اما به دلیل آزمایشی بودن این پروژه، هنوز به مرحله ی کامل اجرایی نرسیده است.

Jon Mirtschin, IFC4: The Shape of Things to Come (The BIM Day Out)
Blogger, engineer and software developer Jonathan Mirtschin presents on OpenBIM workflows and the research/development that he has done in the past 3 years. This includes insights to project application of generative BIM workflows form Grasshopper to Revit and Tekla. He offers a "sneak peak" of IFC4 and its extended geometrical capabilities and presents his observations, research and tools which utilise the IFC standard for BIM and geometry exchange.
Jon also demonstratse some of the improvements in the new revision IFC4 (now ratified -- see below) and will open up discussion on is can be done to motivate software vendors to embrace and utilize this technology, opening up more collaborative and powerful workflows. The presentation also demonstrates some exchange improvements Jon has developed with BIM software including Revit, Archicad, Tekla and Solibri and some of the projects that have benefited from it.
Jon will provide some live demonstrations of the way his toolsets can transfer information from complicated NURBS surfaces in Rhino to models in Revit, as well as exporting directly to structural analysis software such as GSA and Strand 7.
